Comments about Hidden Hitch 87454 - Class 3 Hitch:
Installation was very simple, with the exception of the nuts welded in the frame were rusty. Once the threads where cleaned up, went together perfectly.

Comments about Hidden Hitch 87454 - Class 3 Hitch:
Purchased for '04 Honda Pilot primarily to attach bike rack. Installation of rack was simple (less than 10 min, no need to disconnect exhaust); however it took over an hour to free mounting holes underneath vehicle of 6 yrs worth of accumulated grime/dirt. Were so clogged that it originally looked like bolts were wrong size...
Hitch works well; sturdy and easy to install - just be aware of effort needed to clear holes for installation on older vehicles.

Comments about Hidden Hitch 87454 - Class 3 Hitch:
- Hitch is bigger than it looks on the website.
- 40+ Lbs. Hitch.
- Not easy to install yourself because of the weight
- Need atleast two adults to get this thing installed.
I tried installing this hitch but wasn't able to since it is quite heavy and I wasn't able to hold the hitch in-place while putting the screw through. Eventually took the hitch to a local auto repair store. I had everything prepped up and all that was needed was the actual screws to be installed w/ the hitch. Paid $20 to get the 6-screws put on.

Comments about Hidden Hitch 87454 - Class 3 Hitch:
This hitch is quite heavy to fit on your own, though appears strong and functional. For a Honda Pilot I would change the installation instructions. There is no need to lower the exhaust pipe by removing the (difficult to remove) rubber supports. But do lower the spare tire out of the way. Use a torque wrench with a 5 inch extender, and have a second person to "bench press" the hitch into position as the pre-drilled holes can take a while to align correctly with the bolts.
68lb of torque is quite tight, so if you are not used to a torque wrench, set it to 38lb, do all of the bolts, then to 48 and so on up to 68. This will ensure an even fit with some confidence.
Looks fine when the job is done.
